Have a Website

We all know the obvious: in order to have a good online presence, you need to have a website for your business. This is a place for your customers to travel to for more information and to find ways to contact you as well. If you don’t already have a website, consider an affordable one through GoBoost!

If you already have a website, here are some things you should consider revamping that our websites can help you with:

Make sure your website is fast loading, easy on the eyes, and mobile-friendly. Many times, at least half of the searches you get will be done on a mobile device. If your website isn’t loading fast and isn’t easy to navigate, the user will leave immediately to find a better option.

In order to look more professional, create business emails with your website domain. Instead of having gmail.com or yahoo.com as the ending to your email, it could be your website name! You can do this by signing up for Google Workspace, setting up an alias through your domain provider, or using another service that allows you to have a custom email domain.

Claim Your Business

If you haven’t already, claim your business on Google. You can do this by visiting https://www.google.com/business/ and clicking “Manage Now” to set up your Google Profile. Make sure to fill out each step carefully and thoroughly, HOWEVER: if you do not operate out of a real business location with an office, you should select “No” when prompted to add a location for your business. This also applies if you have a P.O. box as your mailing address even if you do have a physical business address. Make sure to fill out all other prompted fields accordingly.

At the very end, Google will request your personal mailing address to mail a verification code to, and you will have to use the verification code to finish verifying your business by logging back into your Google My Business account and entering the code you received.

Update Your Business Profile

Once your business has been verified on Google, there are several steps you can take to make sure that your account is up to date and properly accessible to others on the internet.

Try searching for your business on Google. Do you see that there are no hours posted for your business? Is the wrong website linked? These are things the consumer will see when they find you and try to access information about you online, including reviews left for your business. To make changes, make sure to log into your Google My Business profile, and take some time to peruse all the information you can. Make sure it’s complete, and up to date.

Lastly, take advantage of Google’s free posting service!

Focus on Reviews

One of the best organic ways to garner an online presence is to get more reviews. It’s not always easy to get them just by giving good service. You must request reviews from your customers, and you can use a review management service like RepBooster to help you.

Once you start receiving reviews, you should also pay attention to what your customers are saying and thank them for their kind words. If you receive negative comments from customers, it’s time to do damage control and kindly respond to restore the issue. Managing your reviews this way will only help you receive the online reputation that you wish for and will ultimately gain the trust of potential customers.

Social Media Engagement

When it comes to Social Media, DON’T create accounts on multiple platforms that you never actually update or use. Instead, you should only commit to the social media services that you will regularly be involved in.

Instead of having a profile on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, consider using only Facebook. Set yourself regular reminders to create posts for your followers to see. Outside of creating Facebook posts, the app is helpful in so many more ways. You can join local communities to freely advertise your services as allowed, offer help when it’s needed, and share things about your business! Search for groups and join ones that involve local businesses, as well as local community pages where consumers often pay the most attention to daily updates. The best thing about these pages is that consumers often ask for recommendations from their neighbors when someone is searching for a service.
